finding a dwelling & a home.

From DIY blogs, to pinterest, to other crafty sites -- it's amazing how much is out there in the world of being creative and expressing it in the form of words. But here I am -- I'm back. For today.

Have your heard of Pirq? It's this nice little app that allows you to find deals in your city. The nice part is that the deals are completely free! This morning my roommate/best friend and I scored free Emerald City Smoothies. All we had to do was commit to the deal and show it to the place that we were going. It is limited to the Seattle and San Fransisco area, but if you live there, you are in luck!

I'm currently trying to find a place to live once my lease is up at my current apartment. I believe I've finally decided to stay in my same complex, but just move into a much bigger apartment. Here is the floor plan. I'm excited to finally have made a decision. This is 953sf as opposed to my current 471sf apartment! Very excited!

Though my dream place would be here - located in Pioneer Square in Seattle! BEAUTIFUL lofts and apartments that I instantly fell in love with! Someday, someday. I actually took interest in them to find out the cost. They generally run from 523-1350 sqft for $1200-$2700. Utilities run from $50-$100 and Parking is wither $75 a block away or $150 in the Terry Denny Building. I was actually surprised and thought this to be pretty reasonable (not for my college budget though).

Imagine waking up to that view. Or walking out to the hustle and bustle of the busy Seattle life. Walking down to a local coffee shop or to the Sounders game... Wonderful!!

I did find this steal of a deal table tonight on Craigslist -- 70s Retro Dining Room Table for FREE! Kaile and Tim are not too happy about it, but I'm very excited to turn it into a DIY project. Paint the base and do some updates to make it more mod. You will see the before and after pics.... I will take a better picture later. This was the one on Craigslist. Right now, the table is crammed into my tiny apartment until we move...

Blessings and Goodnight local seattle-ites, friends around the world, and family close and far.

.we love to love.

I went ahead and bought the new Ingrid Michaelson album today and I love it! I love the intro to the song "Fire." It starts out with a brilliant orchestra! Her lyrics are real in this album and you can tell by her lyrics that she has had some heart ache since her last album but that she is stronger for it. I recommend it!

I had my interview with world vision this morning! I'm happy with how it went! I won't really know if there is an internship that fits my interests till the end of February! Such a long time to wait, but know that if God wills...

.a thoughtful friend.

I have the most wonderful best friend in the world - today I received a small package from Kaile with a care and small book. Knowing I've been searching for inspiration, she sent me this book that gives me space to write in every single day for five years. It's for memories, quotes, scripture, thoughts... Whatever I'm thinking that day tied up into one sentence. I think it will be interesting to see the change in my life over 5 years. She is so thoughtful!

Today overall was good! I'm tired... I bought my first iron (ooo ahhh) because I needed to iron my business pants for my class today. Following I had classes, worked on a project and homework, visited my debate team family for a little bit, had my social venture class, and worked out!

Random thought: I want to look into Social Entrepreneurship masters programs. I've heartd about them and I want more info...

Goodnight!

.God's burden.

Well hello blogging world,
Time to blog before I trek into the night for a very long study sesh! Lot's of homework due tomorrow... Today was wonderful! Started out early by going to Seattle with my roommate and visiting Pikes Place where I bought new loose lead tea from my favorite tea shop "World Spice" - I got Peppermint, Chamomile, Raspberry Splash, and a black tea. I had some peppermint tonight and loved it! Following that, we wandered around and I got a few vegetables and a fresh load of sour dough bread that is amazing! Not many of the shops were open that early, so we didn't explore too much. We then found a coffee shop where I had a cis up of Clam Chowder with Warm Pita Bread and a cup of tea to warm up in the rainy weather. Even though I had class and work the rest of the day, this made my day!
Lesson learned about business number one: Invest in a good iron. Or else you'll end up yelling at your $10 one from target at midnight...

Thought for the day: I'm finding love again. In daily life. Today's love and grace was the ability to go to pikes this morning and enjoy simple blessings. The other day I found love and grace that burdened and saddened my heart as I saw a handicapped man homeless who's head was almost completely indented on top and misshaped. My heart cried for him. My inspiration was found by God breaking my heart and giving me little blessings and joys.
Reminds me of this song: "Love" by Clarensau
"I saw love in a hurricane,
Just after the storm,
Running through the rain
And I saw God
On a busy street,
In the face of a lonely man,
Who's wall, it was so thick,
You won't believe

And I found love
I found love

I saw grace,
On a hotel floor
In a girl who's crying now,
Hoping that there's something more
Than the card she's been given,
Than the hole in her heart,
Than the pain in the memories
That Daddy left and caused
But I want to tell her
Oh, she has to know
Oh, I found something bigger;
Something that won't let go

And I found love
That will not leave
That will not leave
Oh, I found love

(Even when I'm hurting,
Even when I'm down,
Your love will never leave me;
I found Love)

And I found love
That will not leave
That will not leave
Oh, I found love

(And even when I cannot stand
On my two feet again,
Your love will never leave me,
Oh, I found love)

And I found love
That will not leave
That will not leave
Oh, I found love

(And even when I find myself
At the end of my rope,
Your love will never leave me,
Oh, I found love)

And I found love
That will not leave
That will not leave
Oh, I found love

(And even when I throw myself
Into a deeper whole,
Your love will never leave me,
Oh, I found love)

And I found love
That will not leave
That will not leave
Oh, I found love

.baba yetu.

So I got a new design up on my blog title as you can see! I'm really happy with how it turned out. Why did I pick this?
"Passion be Joy" - God has given me two of the most wonderful gifts. Passion and joy. Passion for the life and people around me. For the dreams he has placed in my life. Passion is this indescribable feeling that burns within me that gives my life each and every day.

Joy is my happiness that defeats worry and negativity.

My passion is joy.
My joy is passion.
Think about it....

Today was wonderful. Back to classes, cleaned apartment, made some Mac and Cheese for Tim and I and went to evening class. Worked out with Tim at school and now home and doing some homework, completing scholarships, and sending out a few important emails.

I am constantly reminded how much I love doing life with Tim. Even though I was cleaning and he was studying today when he was over, I enjoyed his company. I enjoyed making dinner for him. I enjoyed working out together and laughing together. I'm very happy with where we are in our relationship and the joy he brings my life! =)

We watched this cool video on Social Media in 2011. It's very interesting and I recommend you watch it (even the music is amazing)! How impacted we are by the network we've created online... What do you think? Is it positive or negative?

Have a goodnight!

.pure me.

Back to the old blog? We will see... It's going to need a little revamping. Redoing graphics, sidebars, the ideas behind the blog. But You've got to adjust an d move things as life goes I guess! You don't have to get rid of the old and create the new every time you transition through life....

I've had some recent thoughts... Inspiration. I'm lacking it recently. Oh believe me, I've got enough design inspiration, fashion inspiration, ect from pinterest to last me a life time! I mean life inspiration.
In high school I was incredibly inspired by one man, Tim Bisson. He was my ASB teacher. He was so full of passion about life each and everyday. He was motivating, reading to live each day to the fullest -- and that was contagious. He encouraged me and believed that I could do anything. That inspiration carried me a long time.

First year of college hit though and reality settled in about life. And I guess I lost a little bit of that passion for life and people amongst the negativity others had about life and the things that could have actually been considered blessings. I know it's missing, and I'm hunting to find that source of inspiration that will again passion for life. I want to take joy in the little things. I wish it was as easy as saying this and making it happen. But I really need God to spark it in me somehow, someway. I know He can do it.

So that's where I'm at...
Goodnight!
