Objective: Honor your parents
Meditate on this: "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in teh land the Lord your God is giving you." Exodus 20:12
Agent Christ Follower: Teenagers not living in perfect harmoney with their parents is not a new phenomenon. Perhaps you're in the same boat. AS a child, more likely than not, your parents were your heroes. You used to tell other kdis with confidence that your parents could beat up theirs! But now as you get older and become more independent, you generation hates to be told what to do! But God loves when a teenager respects and submits to their authority. In return He honors them with a long life!
So today, no matter how distant you may feel from your parents or how much you feel that they don't understand you....you are going to "kiss" them anyway! Do something that will FREAK them out. Out of nowhere, go mow the lawn, do the dishes, vacuum, dust, ect. You get the idea. Make your parents think: What happened to my kid!?!?!?! Make them wonder if you are going to ask them for money, but DON'T! Just honor them today. Write them a card expressing your appreciation. Send your mom flowers. Whatever you do, above all, make a commitment to honor them while you are still under their authority.
